Serial ATA 2.5 ECN 001- Ratified

The Digital team has completed an erratum for the Revision 2.5 specification that will be ratified next month.  This ECN allows the host to retransmit COMWAKE to the device in the case that no COMWAKE was received from the device on resume from a low power state. Note that this errata simply allows the host this option, it does not require the host to do any retransmissions of COMWAKE. Released on October 31, 2005.

Serial ATA 2.5 ECN 002-Ratified

This ECN clarifies the intended usage of DCO with regards to Serial ATA specific features. The intended use of DCO is to allow or dis-allow reporting support for features per support of a device. Different bits defined for DCO usage are used to identify whether a device is allowed to report support for a specific feature, if indeed the device does support the capability. It was identified that the current documentation within the SATA specification was unclear and that mis-interpretation may occur, with potential conflict of IDENTIFY (PACKET) DEVICE data usage. The device actually reports support for a feature through defined bits in IDENTIFY DEVICE or IDENTIFY PACKET DEVICE data, but the DCO bits are used to limit whether or not the device may report support for a feature or not. Released on December 19, 2005.
